At a Vestry held on in the Parish Church of Sego on the 25 th day of April 1700

It was then enacted by the Minister, Church wardens and parishioners then present that the sum of fourteen pounds four shillings and 9d sterling be apploted on and levied of the parishioners of the said Parish which together with the sum of fifteen pounds 5 shillings and 3 pence now in bank completes ( amounts to) twenty and nine pounds and ten shillings and ordered for the uses following (viz) eight pounds to Mr John Mathers for which together with the old shingles now on ye Church he is to find new shingles for covering of the Church also four pounds to John News and John McComany for shingling of the Church and three pounds for nailing and other materials and for two new seals and enlarging the old common seals and for maintaining the Ash, Child or disposing of it as the Church Wardens shall think fitt, for the providing of elements for the Sacrament of the Last Supper, for making of the new gate and erecting a stile and other public expenses and the sum of twenty pounds now be levied of the Parish by the present Church Wardens within a month of Easter next for a bell and belfrey and now allowed by the Parish in lieu of fifteen pounds formerly ordered for ye said uses and at present applied to now necessary uses.
