January 3rd 1704 At a Vestry then held in ye Parish Church of Sego it was
unanimously agreed, that wheras there was an Act of Vestry made ye 25th
day of April Ano Domini 1700 therein it was ordered and agreed ye twenty
pounds sterling should be applotted and levied off ye said parish for a Bell and Belfrey
which sum of money was accordingly applotted and levied but afterwards it appeared
more necessary that a gallery should be built in the first place. Another
Act of Vestry was made ye 6th April 1702 wherein it was agreed that ye said money
should be applied to ye building of ye said gallery and other uses in ye said Act mentioned
after this ye Rev. John Campbell acquainted ye Right Reverend ye Lord Bishop of
ye Diocese of ye said money was so applied as aforesaid, but ye like sum was
promised by ye parishioners to be forthcoming for ye Bell and Belfry as
it was first intended. We therefore ye minister, churchwardens and parishioners
now met do accordingly agree ye said sum of twenty pounds sterling be applotted
betwixt now and Lammas next
and levied with all convenient speed the said money being intended for
a Bell and Belfrey as formerly agreed.
