1891

A meeting of Select vestry was held in Seagoe Parochial Schoolroom on Monday the 16th February 1891. Rev. A. Dawson Rector in the Chair.

Mr. Dawson after revising the list of Vestrymen stated to the Vestry Mr. Grundy’s proposal for the heating of the Church for £70. Exclusive of the mason work required in so doing-it was then agreed that Mr. Dawson should inquire of the architect Mr. Drew whether such was included in Mr. Collin’s contract.

It was proposed by Mr. D. William Walker, seconded by Mr George Calvert. Resolved that as the architect has decidedly refused to allow any tablet to be placed upon the new walls of Seagoe Church as they could not be so placed without injury to the building. The Select Vestry are unable to accede to Mrs Stewart’s wish to have the late Mrs Laurins Tablet placed there, but they offer to have it placed on any portion of the old walls which is suitable to receive it.
