19020228 28th February 1902 Select Vestry meeting

A meeting of the Select Vestry was held 28 Feb 1902 – The Very Rev. The Dean of Dromore in the Chair. Also present, Rev. N. T. Grey, Joseph Norris?, James Albin, Joseph Murray, George Calvert, Thomas Stothers, John Montgomery, James Collins, Thomas Martin and W. R Atkinson.

Revised List of Registered Vestrymen for 1902 confirmed, as follows – Owners of property 4, Accustomed members of Congregation 4, Resident Parishioners 279, Total 287.

Mr Calvert reported the Rural District Council was willing to give £30 for the Stables etc at Graveyard provided they got the Title and satisfactory to their Solicitor.

Secretary to write to Diocesan Council for their recommendation, so as to satisfy the Representative Church Body in order that the latter may make the necessary Conveyance to the R.D.C. of the property.

It was proposed by Mr. Calvert and seconded by Mr. Stothers that Mrs. Atkinson, Bedford be granted liberty to put a Memorial window to her late husband Mr. John Buckby Atkinson – in the Centre mullioned window on the Westside of the Transept and that the two small windows on each side of above be allocated to Mr Wolsey. Re. Atkinson for future use, for stained glass memorials.

It was proposed by Mr Stothers and seconded by Mr. Martin that a committee consisting of Joseph Murray, George Calvert, Wilson Irwin, Thomas Gilpin and N.R. Atkinson be appointed to inspect the most suitable ground for proposed new stables and shed and to get information as to construction and cost of same.
