19040406 6th April 1904 General Vestry meeting

Select Vestry Easter 1904

The Annual Vestry was held on Wednesday 6 April 1904. When there were present The Very Revd The Dean of Dromore – in the Chair- Revd W.J. Grey, Messer’s James Collins, Geo Calvert, Thomas Martin, W.J. McDowell, John Montgomery, Jas Monro, W.R. Richardson.

The Dean and Treasurer gave particulars of the various Parochial accounts for the past year.

It was proposed by Geo Calvert and seconded by J.G. Montgomery that Messrs Thomas Stothers and James Martin be elected as additional Diocesan Synodmen, to which the parish is entitled through hiring a second curate.

The Dean reappointed Mr J.G. Montgomery as Rector’s Churchwarden and on proposition of Thomas Stothers seconded by J. Montgomery, Thomas Martin was re-elected Peoples’ Churchwarden.

W.R, Atkinson was reappointed Treasurer and Secretary to the Select Vestry.

The Ballot for new Select Vestry resulted in the following being chosen – George Calvert,

Annual Vestry 1904 Continued.

Joseph Monro, John Montgomery, W. R Atkinson, James Collins, Wilson Irwin, Joseph Murray, Thomas Stothers, James Albin, John Lavery, W.J. McDowell, Thomas Gilpin.

Sidesmen same as last year, namely Messer’s W.R. Atkinson, Jas Monro, John Montgomery, Thomas Stothers.

At the conclusion of the meeting the Dean referred in feeling terms to the approaching departure from this Parish of the Senior Curate, Revd W.J, Grey and expressed his personal regret at the change and his sense of the loss it would be to him.
